Question: More and more children are prescribed hearing aids or cochlear-implants (CI). Is there an alternative to that?

Answer (Dr. Wilden):

You are right. The prescription of hearing aids and cochlear-implants for children and young people is increasing drastically. This is a very alarming development.

It would make sense to start teaching children and young people about their ears and noise protection when they go to school.

Moreover, it is possible to do regular audiometry check ups with all children and young people in order to measure their respective inner ear quality.

Should any incipient inner ear diseases be found in the process, they can be fixed easily with only a few high doses of LLLT by Dr. Wilden®.

Significantly Improved Hearing Curve after only Three High Doses of LLLT by Dr. Wilden®

In the autumn of 2013, I wrote to all German-language ENT-clinics about this topic and asked them to verify my treatment results.

Children in particular can be treated very successfully for incipient inner ear diseases with only a few side effect free laser treatments

None of the universities I contacted reacted to my request. In fact, people have been trying to obstruct my work for years.

Question: How do children and young people react to your treatments?

Answer (Dr. Wilden):

Children react very well to our treatments. Children and young people have a strong regenerative capacity – also with regards to their ears.

Question: Can your treatment prevent children from having to get hearing aids?

Answer (Dr. Wilden):

Yes. I would even say that just a few therapy sessions can prevent every child or young person from having to get a hearing aid, even if they are immediately faced with the decision if they have to use one or not (= the hearing curve is close to 30 dB or a little below). This is true for both our treatments.

Dr. Wilden's LLLT is side effect free and children and young people consider it to be very pleasant.

We are happy to answer any further questions concerning the treatment of children's and young people's ear diseases.

Question: I have been experiencing ear problems for a while now. My ear doctor has always said that my hearing was alright. After the last hearing test, however, he said that I do need a hearing aid now. How should I understand this?

Answer (Dr. Wilden):
It is indeed the case that many ENT doctors only speak of impaired hearing once the hearing ability is close to or below 30 dB. Nevertheless, your hearing is impaired much sooner than that.

Please consult our website  for further information.

It is certain that by now, your auditory cells are tired.
The currently common prescription of hearing aids does not take that into consideration, but increases the already existing overexertion of your auditory cells through sound amplification.

Question: My ear doctor says that auditory cells cannot regenerate. Is that true?

Answer (Dr. Wilden):

Apparently, this is indeed a common opinion among ENT doctors. Or at least that's what patients from all over the world have been telling me for many years. Nevertheless, it is not biologically correct.

In fact, auditory cells are the biologically strongest of all somatic cells.
This can be proved easily with the help of a few examples.

Example 1:

Acoustic perception is the very first thing experienced by all people waking up from a state of unconsciousness or anesthesia.
Even if it is impossible to open the eyes or move the fingers, noises or voices in the vicinity can be heard.
The reason for that is our auditory cells' biological strength – they are the first ones of our nerve cells to “work their way out” of anesthesia or craniocerebral trauma (= “regenerate” out of it).

Example 2:

In the past, most people died at home surrounded by their family members.
Back then, it was a common practice to give the dying person the last rites, but not to talk about the expected inheritance. It was widely believed that hearing was the longest-lasting bodily function and that therefore the auditory cells are the biologically strongest (= most capable of regeneration) of all our somatic cells.

Example 3:

If you protect your ears with earplugs and remove them after three hours, you will notice a short-term improvement in your hearing. This is an easy test that proves the capacity for spontaneous regeneration our auditory cells possess.

People with hearing aids experience the same thing if they don't use them for three to four days. Once these people put their hearing aids back in, they suddenly amplify ambient noise – of course, this effect only lasts for a certain time span.

Moreover, the natural and very strong biological regenerative capacity of our auditory cells is a scientific fact that has been proven for years by indisputable surveys in occupational medicine.

LLLT used on the inner ear organs measurably improves the hearing ability. For many years now we have seen this subjectively clearly perceptible improvement in all our patients.

Additionally, animal experiments have unambiguously proven the biologically positive, regenerating reaction of auditory cells to Low Level Laser Light (LLLL).

Question: Considering this, why do doctors and acousticians so often tell patients that auditory cells can not regenerate?

Answer (Dr. Wilden):

This question can ultimately only be answered by the doctors and acousticians claiming that auditory and vestibular cells can not regenerate.

I can explain my view of the issue and provide you with information on the ear ( and with biologically sound knowledge on your auditory and vestibular organs.
Additionally, I can give you advice on how to prevent or combat inner ear disease.

Question: My ENT-doctor and my acoustician said I shouldn't wear ear plugs because my ears would become too sensitive. What do you recommend?

Answer (Dr. Wilden):

The word “sensitive” has different meanings.
It can be seen as positive, for example in the sense of “delicacy of feeling”, or as negative in the sense of “not very resilient”.

If you use ear plugs as a protection from everyday noise, you will experience this sensitivity in the positive sense: you will hear better. This proves the extraordinary degree that noise pollution has already reached.

Ear protection will help your auditory cells regain some of their biological strength. Therefore, your hearing will improve.

The longer you protect yourself against everyday noise, the more you will experience the increasing stabilization of your ears.

Bildunterschrift: Treat your ears considerately – it's worth it!

If you follow the advice of not doing anything to protect your ears from everyday noise, your ear problems will increase.
Your sensitivity in the negative sense will intensify.

Without ear protection, your auditory cells will be harmed further. They will become very sensitive to noise and hearing will be painful (= hyperacusis).

I recommend to try this yourself and see which piece of advice is good for your ears and which one is not.

Question: I would like to know how big the human inner ear organ is.

Answer (Dr. Wilden):

The whole inner ear organ is about the size of a pearl.
It contains the cochlea with the auditory cells as well as the so-called labyrinth with the vestibular cells.

Question: I always thought ears get used to noise and high volumes. Is this true?

Answer (Dr. Wilden):
This is a common misconception. If our ears are exposed to loud noise, their hearing ability decreases slightly. We feel like high volumes suddenly just don't bother us as much anymore. Biologically, however, this blunting of the auditory cells equals a loss of quality. They become weaker, but remain susceptible to the dangers of high volumes.

Question: How do I notice that my ears are overstrained?

Answer (Dr. Wilden):
This question is easy to answer because if the inner ear is indeed overstrained, it will send specific distress signals, just like any other organs do.

Please check how many of these distress signals you are experiencing.
